New Referrals

    Our clinic receives many referrals and appointment times are in high demand.

    Some of the doctors have special expertise and for periods of time doctors may be fully booked and unable to accept new referrals.

    You may be advised of this and with the your own and your referring doctor’s agreement, you may be offered an appointment to see another doctor in the practice.

    We try to be efficient in processing requests for consultation and to offer appointments as soon as possible. We aim for non-attendance to be rare so all available appointments are used productively seeing children.

    To achieve this we request that new patients follow three steps:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

“We regret to advise that at present, referrals to TNPC markedly exceed the available consultation times. So with regret we advise that as of March 2015 and until further notice we will accept only a very restricted number of referrals for urgent medical problems.

We hope to soon be able accept the normal number of referrals.

This notice will be updated as soon as we return to our usual policy of accepting all referrals to the practice.”

Making an appointment

    1)   You fax our clinic (02-49526659) with

    • A referral letter from your doctor.
    • Two phone numbers we can use to call you back.
    • An email address
    • A good time to call back.

    To help you enclose all the important information we encourage you to use the fax sheet you can download from this site.

    2)   When we receive your fax we will promptly text or email you back confirming it has arrived. If this does not occur please let us know (see contact details).

    3)   We will call you back as soon as possible to discuss your appointment and inform you of the relevant fees and answer any other questions you may have. After the call you will be sent a confirmation letter.

What to bring with you when you come:

    • Your original doctor’s referral
    • Blue Book
    • Medicare Care Card
    • Private Health Fund Card if applicable (Dr Kumar only)
    • X-rays, pathology results, scans and reports.

Payment

    The cost of your consultation is payable in full at the time of the consultation. Payment may be by cash, credit card or EFTPOS.  Medicare will refund you a large proportion of the fee and if you have registered your bank details with Medicare we will be able to process your rebate back to your account at the time of payment.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please contact us (see contact details) at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Failure to attend without notification may result in a non-attendance fee being raised.
